With the cost of living continuing to rise, I wanted to finish the year by doing something a little special for families.

I'm incredibly grateful to the people who have supported my business, trusted me with their portraits and recommended me to others. So, as a little thank you to my community, I'm bringing back The Family Edit for a special Christmas edition at $350 per session.

The end of the year and the lead up to Christmas are times when we often think a little more about family and the year we've just had. It's also a lovely excuse to get everyone together for a photograph, to document the people we love, especially when so often there's someone missing from the picture because they're the one taking it!

I'd love to have you in the studio and photograph your family this Christmas.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• A relaxed 30-40 minute studio experience in my St Peters studio, including 20 minutes in front of the camera.

• A thoughtfully prepared studio set, ready before you arrive.

• Time to view your portraits and select your five favourites after your session and before leaving the studio.

• Five (5) individually edited and hand-finished high-resolution digital portraits, delivered electronically.

• Each of your five portraits supplied in both colour and black and white (10 files in total).

• Low-resolution versions of your five portraits for easy sharing.

• Bring your pets, favourite props or a splash of Christmas to make your portraits uniquely your own.

• Location: Michelle Young Portraiture, Studio 1, 8 Hutchinson St, St Peters, Sydney.

• Please be punctual, as there will be bookings before and after yours, so lateness may shorten your session time.

• If you'd like more time in front of the camera, you're welcome to book two consecutive appointments.

• Suitable for individuals, couples and family groups of up to five people. Larger groups may be possible by arrangement, depending on the studio set and available space. Please contact me before booking.

• Files will be delivered electronically within 14 days.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should we wear?

I always recommend wearing something timeless that still feels like you. Smart casual tends to photograph beautifully, and there's no need to get too dressed up unless that's your style.

I'd avoid obvious printed brand names and very on-trend pieces, as these can date a photograph surprisingly quickly. Coordinating colours can look lovely, but everyone wearing exactly the same thing isn't necessary. Sometimes the most unexpected combinations make the most interesting portraits!

Ultimately, wear something you feel comfortable and great in. And if you're still unsure, get in touch. I'm happy to help.

What can we bring?

Almost anything! Favourite props, a little Christmas sparkle or nothing at all. The studio set will be ready when you arrive, so there's no need to bring anything unless you'd like to add a personal touch.

How long is the session?

The whole experience takes around 30-40 minutes, with 20 minutes in front of the camera, followed by time to view your portraits and select your five favourites. Please arrive on time, as I'll have other bookings before and after you, and lateness may shorten your photography time.

How many people can we bring?

The Family Edit is open to individuals, couples and family groups of up to five people. Because the studio backgrounds and set have their limitations, larger groups need a little extra planning. If you'd like to include more people, please contact me before booking and we'll see what we can arrange.

Can we bring our pet?

Absolutely. Well-behaved pets are welcome, but please let me know beforehand so I can prepare the studio. It's also worth considering whether your pet will be comfortable in a new environment with the family all together in front of the camera.

How do we choose our five images?

We'll look through your portraits together after your session, and you can choose your five favourites before you leave. If you love more than five, additional images will be available to purchase.

Will we receive both colour and black-and-white images? Are they retouched?

Yes. Each of your five selected portraits will be individually edited and hand-finished in my style, with a natural look and an editorial finish. You'll receive both a colour and a black-and-white version of each of your five portraits, along with low-resolution files for sharing.

Minor retouching is included as part of the finishing process. If there's something specific you'd like me to look at, just let me know during your session.

When will we receive our images?

Your finished images will be delivered electronically within 14 days of your session.

Can we purchase additional images or prints?

Of course! If you love more than the five included portraits, you can purchase additional high-resolution digital images. They're $110 each (in colour + black and white), with discounted pricing available when you purchase three or five additional images.

Museum-quality fine art prints and bespoke framing are also available if you'd like to turn your favourite portraits into artwork for your home.

Is this the same as a Bespoke Portrait Session?

The Family Edit is a shorter, more streamlined session with a prepared set and five included digital portraits. If you'd like more time, additional creative direction or a more personalised approach, my Bespoke Portrait Sessions are available throughout the year by appointment.
