FAQ
What is the MYP difference?
The MYP experience is truly one of a kind. Every detail is personally crafted by Michelle to ensure your session reflects your family’s unique story and vision. Fine art portraiture is more than capturing a likeness—it is the creation of an artwork destined for display. Each portrait is composed with intention, balancing timeless artistry, emotion, and individuality. At MYP, the focus is on uncompromising quality, meticulous attention to detail, and capturing the true essence of every subject in Michelle’s signature style.
What does the portrait experience include?
Your experience is fully guided from beginning to end. From wardrobe consultation and styling guidance, to the portrait session itself, and finally to the curated art viewing appointment, every step is designed to ensure you feel comfortable and cared for. Together, we’ll curate your final selection from a range of bespoke, museum-quality artworks and frames.
Where are the sessions held?
Sessions take place in Michelle’s private studio in St Peters, designed specifically for fine art portraiture.
How should we prepare for the session?
In the lead-up to your session, you’ll be personally guided by Michelle to answer any questions, provide suggestions for clothing, styling, and what to bring. MYP also has an extensive designer wardrobe that is available for most sessions to leave you stress free.
Is there a best age to photograph?
All ages have their strengths yet Michelle recommends children over 4 years of age for the Bespoke sessions, due to the nature and style of the photography. However, as it is all bespoke, we can always tailor a style to suit you and your child’s needs. From newborn shoots to classic character studies of babies and toddlers, Michelle can photograph them all. She consistently works with children of all ages for a career of 20+ years and is very familiar with the nuances of each stage of childhood. To inquire more about when is the right age and time to capture your little one, please contact Michelle to discuss this further anytime.
Do you provide hair and makeup?
Yes. Professional hair and makeup artist can be arranged to enhance your session and to elevate the experience. MYP only uses experienced industry professionals who work well with children.
What kinds of artwork and products do you offer?
Michelle believes your portraits are designed to be lived with and cherished. So MYP offers a curated collection of archival fine art prints, contemporary wall art, and bespoke custom framing crafted by Sydney’s leading fine art providers. Each piece is made to museum standards to ensure longevity and beauty.
Do you only photograph children?
Michelle’s specialty is with children, however pets are also a great option! If parents would like to be involved in the session, then we can discuss this at your pre-session consultation with Michelle or when you enquire. With that said we also offer specific family day sessions! Please check our event page for any upcoming dates.
