Where are you located?
The studio is located in the inner west Sydney suburb of Camperdown, and is very easy to find. We have plenty of parking available in the surrounding streets and its the neighbouring suburb to Newtown so a great spot to make the day of it! The studio is on the ground floor at 115 Salisbury Road Camperdown, NSW Australia, and is on the corner of Cardigan Lane.
When are you available?
Michelle is generally available Monday to Friday 9am-6pm and some weekends however sessions can be flexible. All sessions and consultations are by appointment only.
When do I need to book?
Always try and book well in advance to avoid disappointment, especially school holidays and weekends that book out fast. We require a non-refundable deposit of $150 to secure your booking and this will be credited towards any of your purchases or packages.
What to wear?
Michelle Young Portraiture includes a styling wardrobe in all sessions. These are carefully chosen pieces that are constantly updated and also specifically ordered from session to session. These also include some headpieces and various other hand chosen accessories. However, its also great to bring in anything special as options. Michelle is especially happy to look at any favourite pieces from home to help create a unique look.
Is there a best age to photograph?
All ages have their strengths yet Michelle recommends older children due to the nature and style of the photography. However, as its bespoke, as long as a child can sit up, Michelle can photograph all ages. With babies, the main thing to consider is waiting until about 6-8 months when they can sit unassisted. With toddlers, the options may become limited due to their development as they will be constantly on the run! To inquire more about ages, please contact Michelle to discuss this further anytime.
Who can I bring to the shoot?
From experience, having too many observers results in less productivity and children become more easily distracted. Keep the attendance to a minimum, preferably one or two adults only.
When do I get to see my images?
Your images will be ready to view two to three weeks after your session date. All your images will be carefully edited by Michelle and prepared to present to you at your viewing. You will see a range of images taken from your shoot that will be presented in a range of colour and black + white.
Do you only photograph children?
Michelle’s specialty is with children, however pets are also a great option! If parents would like to be involved in the session, then we would need to discuss this at our pre-session consultation as Michelle Young Portraiture is specially designed just for children.
Can I come to view the images on my own?
We highly recommend all decision makers be present at your viewing, and to arrange for care of your child(ren) prior to your appointment. This allows decision makers to not have any distractions, and also gives plenty of time to discuss your imagery with Michelle and to be able to carefully look at the products available. If you cannot make the decision at your first viewing, there may be a second viewing fee.
Do you supply digital files?
No, but with every image purchased you will receive the matching low resolution file for you to share on your family and social networks.
Can I copy the photographs I have purchased?
Michelle Young Portraiture retains full copyright of all images taken at your photographic session, which means it is a criminal offence to copy, scan, photocopy, reproduce, or email any of the images purchased unless you have written permission. Please see our terms and conditions.
